Goulds Turkey are the king of the thunder chickens. Its hard to beat the gobbles of a big tom on the roost in the desert. Arizona is one of the two states in the country that offer hunts for these birds, otherwise you need to plan a trip to old Mexico to try to secure your turkey slam.

The one animal most people link to the west is the majestic mule deer. Arizona is home to two subspecies of mule deer, the Rocky Mountain and the Desert Mule deer. You can hunt as far north as the Kaibab Plateua or as far south as the Mexican border. Both archery and rifle hunts are offered.

Javelina hunts are one of the most entertaining and fun hunts you can go on. Tags are very easy to acquire and you are allowed two tags a year in AZ. It's a great hunt if your new to archery hunting, with plenty of opportunities to put on stalks and tag out. Rifle hunts and archery hunts are offered.
